Old Shivwits Shack

Click photo to view enlarged

If you read last week that I would be out of town for the next few days - without internet service - and you wonder where I am, this is the answer.  I'm somewhere within about 100 miles of this old shack on the Shivwitz Indian Reservation in South West Utah.

The photos since last Friday were all set up on Thursday evening and scheduled to post on each day.  This will be my last post for at least two or three days until I'm back from my trip - hopefully with a few hundred photos to share over the next while so come back soon and let's see what I found.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I love hearing from my visitors!

Very beautiful rustic shack! Though I wonder where it is....
Great shot!

I like the intense blue sky. It looks a hash landscape and hot. I wonder if it were a hash place to live when the shack was in better condition?

Wow, very cool. The light is not the soft light I would usually prefer in a shot like this, but I think it works really well.

Unfortunately, though, because of that diagonal beam top left the frame behind it is a bit distracting.

What a great shot! Stay safe out there! It looks like, when this photo was taken, it was a very hot day!

Thank you for your comments.

Fredamans; It is in the very South West corner of Utah on an Indian Reservation.

Liss; You are right, it is harsh now and I think it's been harsh of hundreds if not thousands of years.

Jessica; Great eye on that diagonal board, it is a bit distracting, but it was there and I didn't feel I should remove it, but I wish it hadn't been there.

SD; It was fun. I was driving down this very lonely road when I saw it and I couldn't pass it up.

Krista; Thanks, and yes it was HOT! About 110 degrees.

What a colourful shot! Great contrast between the cabin (shack ?) and the hills, and the sky!

This is a fantastic and dramatic picture, I love the colors:)

Sorry if I'm not often here, but my time is not to much now:)
Not even to take pictures.

Have a nice week.
