This week's PhotoHunt theme is Foreign.
This is a night exposure originally taken on slide film about 40 years ago in Venice, Italy when I lived about 30 miles north of there. I think this should be foreign to everyone in PhotoHunt.
I look forward to seeing your post too. I may be a couple days getting to it because I've got a busy weekend, but I'll get around to them all (provided your links work ;^) ) .
You can see more “Foreign” photos from around the world by clicking here.
Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me. I love hearing from my visitors!

What a beautiful sight. Absolutely perfect for this week's theme!
I think you really captured some of the romance of Venice with this shot!
Very nice pic indeed -- and this is the first time I realized you had lived for some time in Italy! :)
I wish it were not foreign to me. I would love to try and live there for some period of time Your photo is great
sometimes foreign has aspects of the familiar.
Lovely shot:crisp
Lovely photo of Venice with a full moon! I will be there for 2 weeks in May, and we will have a full moon while we are there!! Great take on this weeks theme. Have a happy week end.
what a lovely place to go to :)
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing this.
What a great photo! And it has aged so well, too. Beautiful.
I admire slide photography as there is really no room for error. Slides are even difficult to crop so I take my good hat off to people who shoot good slide photos.
I love the exposure in your night shot.
Good luck with your contest. I think 500 followers would stress me out as I'd feel l'd want to try and visit them all.
Gorgeous photo (as usual). I'd just love to see Europe someday... sheesh, I'd be happy to see Idaho or Maine, even!
My Photo Hunters is up. I hope you have some time to take a peek. Happy weekend!
I love Venice~ hope to get there in May. Even with that, my photos wont look like yours.
envy~
Ah ! Venice by night ! that's a place which is not foreign at all to me, I have been there several times. My husband is Italian and it's not that far from where he came from.
It's certainly foreign to me. I'd love to go to Italy someday.
That's a lovely photo! We tried our paw at a foreign language.
Sniffie and the Florida Furkids
Foreign night shots always seem so exotic and romantic! This is wonderful. I was in Venice nearly 40 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long. Beautiful!
Lovely photo, I like how you posted one on top of another. It is interesting how the moon is so comforting to people when they are in a foreign place.
Such a beautiful place!
It's still a gorgeous shot all these years later.
I played too :)
Interesting view of Venice. I'm so used to see the gondolas and canals, this does look foreign to me.
Love the moon! Thanks for dropping by. Saw you left your message in my post, I approved it but after that it's gone, no where to be found. Thanks for dro.pping by
cool pic!!! venice is "eternal", still looks the same as it did 40 years ago.... where did you live in Italy? Treviso? Vicenza?
[this is not foreign to me, by the way :-)] ciao!

That's a beautiful shot and a great idea for the theme. Happy weekend.
It looks like you have a lot of fans! I've never been to Venice. Thanks for sharing the photo. Stop by and see my foreign picture if you get a chance! By the way, I'm starting to read your tutorials. Thanks for posting those as well.
I now have a renewed interest in going to Venice. Lovely pic.

Wow, what a gorgeous shot of my favorite city in the world. Love it!
It's an absolutely wonderful shot! I've been to Venice several times for one thing or another. I wish I knew it better because my grandfather came from there.
I'm sorry to be so very late getting around to visiting.
How I wish Venice was not foreign to me.. I hope I could visit that place sometime soon.
