PhotoHunt: Three

Click photo to view enlarged

I just got back from a photo excursion with a friend of mine where we spent 5 days in Southern Utah trying to capture all kinds of images.  One of the many beautiful and interesting finds were these THREE dried out bud shells.  I have no idea what the flowers that come out of them look like, but the shells left behind are sure interesting.  I love the colors inside.  They remind me a lot of the stratified hills and rocks in that area.

I took over 2000 exposures on this excursion.  Of course many of them are duplicates such as bracketing or a very slightly different angle or zoom in or out.  But I am excited to share a lot of them on my blog over the next few weeks and months.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I love hearing from my visitors!

Sounds like a super fruitful photo excursion. And if even 1/100th of your photos are as good -- if not better -- than the one you've put up in this entry... :)

So dry looking, and lovely colouring too, as you say.

Very interesting take on the theme. By the way, how about making your font larger or a different background...hard to read for we "old " people..LOL
Mine's up, too.

Gorgeous.

There's a real 'sepia' effect to the photo, like an 'old-timey' photograph that lends a special feel to it.

Another great photo. Anxious to see some of the other ones from your trip.

interesting photo. with El Nino, lots of vegetation would eventually look like this.

Lots of plants and flowers for this "three-theme", but I love them all. Your mysterious plant is very interesting. Maybe someone that knows a lot about botany will leave a comment and help you. It happened to me. That was how I became aquainted with Jakill of Jean's Musings. She helped identify a flower for me.
You do such amazing work! I look forward to seeing more from this excursion. I barely get out of the house to take my pics!
Happy Weekend!

Love the brown pods - they really do capture that southern Utah feel (my human has been there, and has shown me pictures). That part of the US is pure eye candy for photographers.

Great shot for the theme and I'm sure the seeds will bring forth many more flowers.

funny how something so lack in bright colors can be so interesting to look at. Such a great shot. Love the three! I enjoy your blog.

What a great shot! Mom can take 2,000 pictures and (maybe) get one good one!

Oh yea Scott the colors inside this flower (or whatever it is) is amazing. Looks like a little gnome as worked around it with a little paintbrush.

Lovely capture for this week's Photo Hunt theme. Methinks this might be my first visit to your blog and I find it most impressive. Thanks for visiting my PH at Small Reflections and leaving the link back here. I look forward to returning as time permits.
Hugs and blessings,

who would've thought that dried buds can make a wonderful pic such as this?
