PhotoHunt: Vertical

The theme for this weeks PhotoHunt is vertical.  For some reason I immediately thought of this close up of a vertical rock I took in Southern Utah last month.

If you want to see Vertical photos from around the world click here.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I love hearing from my visitors!

The last time I was in Utah was back in the summer of 1988. Too long ago as there really are some very beautiful places in that state...

Great vertical!! I think the fact it isn't all straight lines adds to the effect.

Nice angle on the rock - is it one of the 'hoodoos' in Bryce?

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day!

I think I heard my neck creak as I looked up, up, up. :)

That's vertical alright. Nice shot!

Certainly vertical, indeed. Love the texture on the rocks. Just wish that the sky had some color in it. Not much you could do about that, I know.

This would certainly be impossible to climb up without proper gear.

Ok - I'm waiting for the shot you took from the top :)

Great vertical Scott - love the perspective and overall composition.

I had the hardest time with visualizing the word "vertical". Of course, now I've been on PhotoHunter, and seen all the ways to interpret it, I wonder what my hang-up was.

Where was that impressive photo taken?

Great vertical photo. Here in New England we just don't get rocks that big!

That is so interesting. I would love to visit there one day.

Great shot! The mountains and canyons of the western US have some wonderful vistas for "vertical" photography. I do take such shots ocassionally, but the results are not always as spectacular as this one.

Very vertical. I like your "angle" on the vertical theme! (Just kidding. It is a great shot.)

Spectacular, as usual, Scott! I can't get enough of the rock formations. Someday I'm going to see the real thing, I am!
