Empty Nesters No More

I'm sitting at work on Saturday Afternoon, Yes I have to work Saturdays, when my cell phone goes off and it's my wife. She rarely calls me when I'm at work, so I send her to voicemail, because I am on the phone with a client. In just a few seconds my cell phone goes off and it's her again - that tells me that it must be important, but I'm still on the phone with the client. Then a third time and I know it has to be an emergency. I ask the client if I can put them on hold for just a second, making up some excuse, and I try to answer my cell phone, but I'm too late so I try to call her back, but her line is busy. I figure she's leaving a voice mail or something, when I get paged that there is a call for me on the work line. So finally I get to talk to her and the first words out of my mouth were "What's wrong", just knowing she's had an accident or the car is giving her problems or the house has burned down. Turns out it's none of these. Her and one of our daughters and our 17 month old granddaughter were out and about and saw some puppies and since the 17 month old really loves dogs they decided to stop and show them to her. We are now the proud owners of a new puppy - and I thought we'd decided no more dogs after we had to have the last one put down when she got too old.  I guess it was just me that decided that  ;^).

OBTW. . .We can't agree on a name for her. Any suggestions??? For your info her mother is a Poodle and her father is Maltese. She may get as big as about five pounds, and she's actually a little browner than the photos show, kind of a dishwater blond.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Precious puppy! She looks a lot like the dog I had growing up and her name was Buffy! I agree that you should let your granddaughter name her though!

Oh my Scott! would you look at that face! When asking what to name the puppy, I immediately thought of my son and his 6 pound Scottish Fold; he and his wife call her... 'Sumo'

This little puppy is so cute it makes me want one!

Not sure about a name. My kids discuss getting a dog and what it would be called. My son wants to call a dog Scooby Doo and my daughter wants to call a dog if we get one Romeo.

Love the new header photo, as well as the title. And what a cutie the puppy is. Who could resist such a cute face? Yes, let the little one name her!

What a ca-utie!

I thought about naming my dog Sweet Pea, but went with the uncreative Lucky. But I also like Picket or Dish (I just thought of that because of your color description as dishwater blond).
Let us know what you choose.

BTW- I really like what you've done with your blog.

You're going to have fun with this one Scott - probably will become a foot warmer in bed with you. As for a name, I'm with many others here - let your granddaughter choose - it'll make her day! (You might want to gently help her just so you don't end up with a name you can't holler from your front step - can you picture yourself yelling "get over here right NOW Marshmallow") ;-)

I really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. We have decided on a name. Unfortunately The names my granddaughter suggested, "Doggy" and "Ruff-Ruff" just didn't work. ;^) A new photo along with her new name will appear on my blog early Saturday morning - my time.
