First Trip to Thanksgiving Point

(f5.6, 1/80, 14mm, ISO 160)

You've seen a post or two from Karen about a place near her called Thanksgiving Point.  It's a little farther for me - about 60 miles.  Went there today with Chad and it certainly is a beautiful place.  Here are a few photos to whet your appetite.  There will be more in future posts.

Thanks for your nice comments. To answer your question T., it is a trellis behind their rose garden area. Not too many roses right now, but the setting is still very lovely.

WOW! The first photo is breathtaking Scott, they're all beautiful but I'd love to have a rather large, framed one of the first one for my living room! Stunningly beautiful!

So the sore elbows were worth the trip I see! :-)

An enchantment - that's what I think of looking at these and imagining what the place must be like...

Great composition on the first one Scott - lovely shot! Superb colour on the hollyhock - love the shadow on it - makes the colours look deeper. And an interesting birdhouse, especially the part with the square hole - must be tough for round birds to use ;-)

The first is beautifully composed, the way it leads your eye round to the end of the colonnade and then back. I like the texture on the bird house too - I guess you'd have had a long wait to get a bird peeping out!

All wonderful photographs; however, the first picture caught and held my eye. It is lit well throughout the picture.

I'm glad you and Chad made it down to my 'neck of the woods.' Love your perspective of the trellis rose garden. Of all the structures there, I've never taken a picture from this angle. It's perfect. My daughter and I walked there at 6:30am. It is so peaceful and beautiful at that time. When were you able to get there?

Have a beautiful day . You inspire me greatly to keep on going even when I feel like I cant. Thanks for that.
