Phun Phriday! #26 - Texture

The time has flown.  Based on the Phun Phriday! count this must be 6 months, and if I remember correctly I haven't missed one yet.   This one isn't too far out of the box, but it did require a little more than just capturing an image, so I'm going to use it since it is actually two images.  You'll probably see that even better if you click and embiggen it.

While exploring the Uinta mountains I found this interesting little plant growth on some of the evergreen trees.  Looked like a baby pine cone to me but I had never noticed them before.  I've been wanting to do a little more with textures and while I was up in some other mountains a couple days ago I noticed some great texture in the waters of the stream so I overexposed it about a stop and a half and then I sandwiched these two together to create this image.

Photography should be Phun and that's why I have my Phun Phriday! posts.  Have you done something Phun, wierd and/or creative lately? If so, leave a link to it in your comment. If not - well I'd really love to hear from you anyway.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you!

I'd love to see the bg component on its own. And of course, you know my predilection for texture. I made a stab at it HERE

I love the texture - and the pine cone. I think they are so very interseting. Can't believe it's Phun Phriday again.... and I missed it - again....

Great shot. I think I was able to take photos of this plant too when I went for a walk in the field. But just like most of my photos... I don't know which folder I had it. Great texture! Love the detail.

Another one of your wonderful shots Scott, I live Phun and a tad bit crazy, no need to post it though! :-) I only wish I had the time to spare and I would participate in your Phun, maybe one of these days I'll go around snapping and get in at least one shot before university begins.

A very nice picture (my wife thought it was a weed),but the background texture really makes it something special.

Very nice effect Scott - really makes that little pine cone ('thingy' ?) stand out !

I managed to get a shot of the international space station today, although I didn't set out to participate in Phun Phriday.

You've got some great photographs here! Look forward to checking out more of your blog. I like your "occupation" on your profile page... I was thinking of using something similar!

I love the texture. Scott I have yet to learn this as well. Nice work. This winter I hope to and I think and hope I can also ask you some questions if I get stuck.
Lovely view. Your blog is a stunner.

Great idea for a texture salute. We belong to a camera club and one of our competition titles this year will be "textures." I do think it's important to have assignments, in order to stretch. I'm headed to my pine trees now:). Thank you.
