Perhaps you've heard of the famous seven course Italian meals. Well they're not usually taken in one setting. People get up and stretch and move around and visit and enjoy each others' company between courses. My "feast" from our trip to Moab is much the same way. I've made several interruptions so you could rest and enjoy.
Today I'm going to take you on the beginning of a totally different track than what you are used to from me. Last week the NDPES (North Davis Photo Expedition Society) took a day trip to a small town called Helper Utah. I'll tell you more about Helper in coming posts. For today I'll just share a few of the photos I took on the way.

By the way, one of these photos is processed in HDR. Can you guess which?

very nice scenery. beautiful pictures.. i liked..
i'm getting a little jealous of your amazing landscapes there in utah.
it's unlike anything we have in missouri~
and it's breathtaking.
My guess for the HDR photo would be the first one, the rock formation in the morning sun. It is the prettiest. The moving train rules out the train photos.
Your HDR is beautifully done, so well that it is very difficult to discern. I would guess the top photo as well. Or the second train shot might be HDR. I am assuming it is moving quite slowly going up hill and you could get 3 or so shots without a problem...hmmm. This is beautiful Utah, no doubt. The interruption is not a problem because all of your photos are a delight.
Scott,I would guess the first one. Your post today has a little bit of everything;dining, trains, scenery. Looks like you had a wonderful day,and took some great pictures.
magnificent country. I love all things western and have since i was a small child. i read every zane grey book and hundreds of westerns over my life time. these photos are what i saw in my mind while reading.
All pictures show lovely scenery. I like the train pictures! I would pick the very first picture as the one that had HDR processing, judging from the blue of the sky.
This looks like a great place to photograph and your photos are fabulous. Love the train image, and of course I would agree that 2 train images are beter than 1!
I love the train shots Scott and I'm going to say that photo 1 is the HDR shot... just a guess, but it's between 1 and 3, 1 seems more like it to me.
I agree with the majority, it's shot #1. We drive that road so many times during the summer to go to Moab or Lake Powell and I've ALWAYS wanted to stop in Helper. I just know there are a ton of photo ops in that area. I'm really jealous. Love all these images, especially #3.
Great set Scott, I would guess the first is HDR, however the first train image has also got HDR quality, so whichever one of these that is not HDR the exposure is excellent. Oh yes and thank you for your comment on my remembrance post. Kev
Loved every one of them Scott - great to see the variety; I can' pick a fav, but that top one ... stunning.
I'm also going to have to say that your first photo is the HDR photo. I really like the pictures of the trains in the canyon.
Stunning landscape there, I love the pictures with the train in motion, it's fabulous!

magnificent images!! i love trains!! best regards
Very much like the first of the train pictures. It's the kind of scene I have never seen outside films.
Lucy
P.S. Can't say what is HDR 'cos I don't know what it is!
beautiful scenery, i like the zigzagging railway tracks.
#1-HDR
Cool pictures - love that first one of the train and the HDR one (the first) - beautiful!
