Phun Phriday! # 53 - Phun with Ice

Really this whole week has been "Phun with Ice", but since today is Phun Prhiday! I put in one of the Phunnest ones today.  I personally cannot fathom the forces of nature that create an Ice formation like this, especially when you consider that it all had to happen relatively quickly since 60 hours before I took this photo this was all liquid water.  Cold, yes, but still liquid.

Speaking of Phun, while I was down in the prone position taking some other ice formations, unbeknown to me, Chad was taking some shots too and here is one of Chad's better shots from that evening.

As you know by now photography should be Phun and that's why I have my Phun Phriday! posts. Have you done something Phun, weird and/or creative lately?  If so, leave a link to it in your comment or just tell us it's there so we can go find it.  If not, I'd really love to hear from you anyway.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you! Did you notice? Now you can click below and share this post with your friends on facebook!

If you were down there to take this photo, the formation must not be very large...It looks mountainous...and I like the dragon in the middle...

I especially like the ones with the beautiful sunlight.

Thanks for Chad taking that shot (your best side?). It gives a good idea of the size of the ice formations.

Yikes, you go all out for your shots I see. The first photo sure does make the ice look huge in comparison to what it actually is but it's a fantastic shot! Glad you didn't fall in.

I like both of these phun shots. It's good to see the extremes to which you go to get a wonderful shot.

That last picture answers the question I had earlier "how close are you to the ice formations when you take the pictures"!

I've enjoyed your icy series this week Scott - this one is marvellous !

And I can relate to that position you were 'captured' in too - ya gotta do what ya gotta do to get the shot ! And have phun while doing it ;-)

Its hard to tell which is the better photo. One thing the bottom photo does not show is that you had taken up the challenge to touch your tounge to the ice and was stuck there.

So we both do a bit of unsafe activity to get our photos (me in an alley at night, you out on ice)! I've enjoyed these a lot, the size plays with the imagination.

Your ice shots are spectacular; but, Chad's is the one that brought a little chuckle of enjoyment. Happy days!

The second photo brought a chuckle because I think a lot of us can relate. I haven't been by in a while but I am so glad I saw these ice photos you've taken. Gorgeous and well worth getting into position to get such incredible shots. We will go to great lengths to get that perfect shot.
