Sunset Sunday - 53

Happy Sunset Sunday to you.  I suspect this is the last of the Ice photos.  As I mentioned before, the forces of nature that caused these various ice formations were just totally captivating and fascinating to me.  Most of the ice formation photos I've posted have been from the East side of a causeway that takes you out to Antelope Island.  At the exact same time on the West side were many of these piles.  They looked like a large truck with a snow shovel on the front had pushed the ice up into piles 3 or 4 feet deep.  But, in fact it was all done by the water and wind and expansion and contraction of the ice forming.  As I said, AMAZING.

Do you have a beautiful sunset/sunrise to share? We'd love to see it. Post a link  in your comment, (click here to learn how) or just tell us it's there and we'll click on your name to find it.

OBTW, if you do post something for Sunset Sunday it would put a big smile on my face if you added a link to my blog. Thanks!

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you! Did you notice? Now you can click below and share this post with your friends on facebook!

Beautiful how the light is reflected on the ice. I have a sunset shot today. Its a bit different because I edited out the pinks and oranges. Sounds odd, but I liked the effect it created. Have a great Sunday!

Another perfect, stunning shot Scott. The colors are magnificent and the clarity is phenomenal and the jagged edge of ice that juts up and stands above the rest with the sunset reflecting off of it is breathtaking! Have a fantastic Sunday!

Your ice photos are great and have helped with some ideas for when things are stark in the desert here.

Spledid light of that sunset, Scott! It makes a wonderful contrast with the ice. I have a lot of sunsets in my last posts about India :)

Beautiful.
Can't remember if I've commented lately, but I have been following your ice photos. This one is simply spectacular. I love the warm sunset colors against the cold blue ice, and the mix of the two where the ice picks up some of the warm colors ... very nice!

I really like the way the colors of the sunset are captured in the ice triangle on top of the pile. Very, very beautiful.

I enjoyed your ice sculpture series very much, and today's is equally gorgeous with the colors on the horizon as well as that reflected on and through the ice ! Very nice work.

I've posted a sunset shot here.

Spectacular Scott. Just stunning (as always). I would love to have something to photograph like that. Last year we had snow (a first in almost 10 years) and I have a long day capturing the images before everything melted that afternoon. Again, that's beautiful.
