The Original Breaking Out

This post is in response to some comments on the previous one here which I had altered by lightening, adding some noise with "filter" and also used "high pass", all in Photoshop. I think my wife likes this one better.  Which do you prefer?

This is the original SOOC except, of course, I added the framing effect and my copyright watermark.

Now to answer the big question - what is it?  Well I think I'll wait a day or two and let you guess.  The first person who identifies it will win a great big applause from me, and probably everyone else that guesses.  I'll give you a hint:  I'll bet you're surprised when I tell you the answer.

Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you! Did you notice? Now you can click below and share this post with your friends on facebook!

I'm with your wife on this one. I like this better. An onion seed pod?

Great of you to experiment Scott - that can lead to all sorts of great outcomes. I think on this one I like the color contrast a little better on the SOOC shot - seems a little more washed out in the PS'd one. And I agree with Sinbad on the onion flower.

I like this one Scott, mainly because of the bokeh, it makes the subject 3D-like. the PS one seems flat and the halo was a little distracting for me.

I much prefer this one. The delicacy really comes through!

This photo does look softer, and more delicate. The soft green of the backgound softens the image. But, I think there's a strength to the other one, too. Different images produce different moods. Which do YOU like?
