A photographer buddy of mine and I were out on a day of photographing landscapes etc. and we found this very calm reflective pond, but it was on private property.. The good news was that the gate was open, and since we didn't see anyone around we trespassed onto the property to get some reflections of nearby hills off the pond. Pretty soon this truck pulls up and the guy asks us what was so interesting that we wanted to take photos of it. Turns out we were on his farm, but he was really nice and friendly and said we could take as many pictures as we wanted. HIs name is Don Jeppson and he even said I could take his picture when I asked him. We had a great visit for about ten minutes or so and then he went back to work and we shot a couple more photos and were on our way.

I am enjoying your stranger series and the little stories that accompany your great photos. Fun.
he looks like a nice man, glad he did not come armed with a shotgun for trespassers. can't wait to see the shots you got on his farm
I look forward to your "stranger" photographs. I enjoy reading about your encounters and seeing the great pictures!
These are the best kind of photos. I like that you went ahead and wandered. Hard worker, a man on his farm. I admire his energy. Super portrait, it really says a lot.
What a lovely man, to allow you to do that. (: It's nice to know there are friendly people in this world! That's a stunning shot of him!
I hate it when I get caught! Glad he didn't get upset with you. One time I got caught by a police officer when I went to close to train tracks (didn't know you weren't supposed to). I like the tones in this photo.
Great story, it is rare nowadays to find someone who is so accommodating what a nice guy.
Three cheers for the friendly farmer!
Ha ha, done that before. I was in a field, lying down to get a good perspective of the weeds, and a truck comes over the horizon, out of nowhere. Turns out he saw someone lying in his field and thought it was his mom with alzheimers. He was understanding of my explanation. :)
A good portrait in your series, Scott!
What a wonderful portrait Scott.
Fantastic tones!
Very nice man and nice, Scott!
Many greetings!
