No, it's not deje vu all over again. I noticed that my previous post (scroll down to see it) of this same grave was a total bust. But being to stupid and to stubborn to just give up I thought I'd try it from a different approach. This time I went to a sepia tone and tried to make it look like an old tintype photo. I created a background that looks like old scratched up metal and then cut out the photo with a bit of a wavy edge and turned it brownish. Then I softened it and reduced the contrast to give it an older look. Finally I added some more scratches to the surface like you might find on an old photo that hasn't been well cared for.
Try clicking on it and viewing it full size and let me know what you think. Did it work, did it not work, have you done anything like this before and do you have any hints or tips? I do look forward to hearing from you.

It looks great although I prefer the previous shot. What really makes the photo for me, is that sign: Faith.
Your making good progress in your use of textures. I like this version very much.
The choice of colors and the subject makes me think about passing by, good job!
Good job, Scott!
I like also the composition.
My compliments from Romania!
Scott I like the first one you posted better as well. It's more real, if that makes any sense. Have a great Sunday!
This shot doesn't have that desolate feel to it...well done. Perhaps it's the word faith on the gate and your choice of sepia. :))
Gorgeous!! Out of the two you posted I really like this.
Yes I like this one much better. Really gives it a more old look.
