Building Up Steam

Click on photo to view enlarged.
This is the train from yesterday's post only this shot was taken about an hour earlier while she was still in the station building up steam and waiting for departure time.  Looks like the engineer is passing the time with the morning paper.

Stepping back in time with a hot shot of gas and heavy metal!

Did the engineer call out "all aboard!"?

Wow - great shots of old No. 844 ! I've only been on an excursion steam train (in Alberta), but this reminded me of when CNR was retiring their steam engines in the late 50's and a lot were held on a siding near our home when I was young. We had a blast clambering all over them.

Nice bit of nostalgia Scott.
