The Mechanic

My sweet granddaughter asked me if I'd take her senior portraits and we set up a time yesterday after school to do it. She showed up ready to go and I had been thinking about the location of that old abandoned truck that I posted a year ago so off we went. We took a lot of photos in about three locations and about three hours that seemed like 20 minutes. She did a super job of modeling for me and we had a lot of PHUN getting these.
Don't be shy - leave a comment or email me.  I look forward to hearing from you! Did you notice? Now you can click below and share this post with your friends on facebook!

Great shot. She would win any young man's heart. "Wow, a girl who likes to work on cars!" What a catch. I know it was staged and the only thing that could have made it even better would be a grease smudge or two on her face. Well done Scott.

well, MY mechanic is not nearly as beautiful as yours. this is a great photo, and she is beautiful. great idea with that old truck. young and old together is a story by itself.

A good and happy image. However, yes the car needs at least a waxing.

She's an absolutely lovely girl.. and the contrast of beat up old car and shiny, fresh, young face makes for a wonderful photo.

Not a typical grad pic, which I assume was the point. Great job.

She's beautiful. Love 'motor head' gals, they are seldom whinny or full of fluff. Great shot.

Beautiful portrait of a lovely young lady. You must be so proud of her. I'm off to see my grand-daughter tomorrow, 3 weeks old! Think I might also be setting up a photoshoot.

Scott, a lovely subject and a really great and unusual portrait. By the way, does she have any interest in (old) cars?

Thank you all for your kind comments. To answer the comments about her mechanic ability or interest, on the way to the shoot, since I drive a diesel truck the subject came up and I had to explain the difference between a gas engine and a diesel engine and I was telling her about a minivan I had once that the main crankshaft in the engine broke and I had to explain what that was. Any more questions? ;^)
