Stumped at Panther Creek Falls

Those of you who have been around my blog for awhile know of my habit of saving the best for last.  If you've been around for the past couple weeks you've seen some previous photos of Panther Creek Falls and you will know that I think it may be the most lush and beautiful place of this kind that I have ever been.  Of the many photos I took there I think this may be the very best (imho).  You absolutely must click on this so that you can see it even larger.  There was some blue/green luminescence in the water and one of the reasons I love this photo so much is because it shows in a couple spots.  I truly hope you enjoy viewing this photo even a fraction as much as I enjoyed getting it.

The sun had already gone below the horizon and the waves of the incoming tide were thundering against the rocks for this 8 second exposure.

Patience

I hope you're not tired of my photos of Panther Creek Falls, because I still have more.  I love this one because it is a photo of my son patiently waiting for his old man to put his camera away and go have dinner.  What he didn't know was that we still had to go down to the bottom of the falls and dinner was still an hour or two away.  He was there to make sure that his old man didn't do anything stupid resulting in a helicopter rescue.

It was really nice to have him there.

Note:  This is an HDR but he was so focused on what he was doing that I was able to snap off five images of different exposures using burst mode without him even moving.

If you didn't catch it in yesterday's post, I'll tell you again that this may be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.  This is a three image panorama of these awesome falls.  The photo simply does not do justice to this gorgeous place.

Upper Panther Creek Falls

I had seen a photo on flickr of a place in Southwestern Washington State called Panther Creek Falls.  Since I was headed in that general direction I decided to research it and found it was only about 25 miles one way off my planned route, so I took the detour and WOW was it ever worth it.  This is the upper falls and in future days I'll post some from the main falls.  It may be the greenest lushest place I have been in my entire life.  I was awestruck by the beauty.  Sadly photos don't do it justice but I'm sure glad I got a few to share.

Yes, this is HDR, but it really looks much like this.

Sunset Sunday - 76

I'm back from almost two weeks in Washington State and Oregon.  I absolutely love the Oregon coast.  Actually most of the area as much as 200 miles inland from the coast is just beautiful.  Of course most importantly is the time I got to spend with my children and grandchildren, but I also got a chance to get some photos that I'm excited to post over the next several days. 

Today's Sunset Sunday offering is one of the photos I took while I was there.  This isn't the first time I've photographed this light house, and hopefully won't be the last.

Abstract Flower

I do love macro.  It gives you the opportunity to see beautiful things in a new and different way.

Notice:  For the next two weeks I will be involved in a project with my Grandchildren that will take all priority.  I will probably not be able to post more than a couple times, if at all, and I will have to delay viewing most of your posts until the end.  I look forward to seeing them then.
