Sunset Sunday - 80

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the attack on the U.S. by terrorists.  I really don't have anything appropriate to post in remembrance of that occasion, but I do want to express my appreciation for all of the heroes of that day.  I did happen to know one of the people who was killed on that day while working in the Pentagon.

Today is also a Sunday so per my tradition I'm posting my usual Sunset Sunday post.

If at First . . .

No, it's not deje vu all over again.  I noticed that my previous post (scroll down to see it) of this same grave was a total bust.  But being to stupid and to stubborn to just give up I thought I'd try it from a different approach.  This time I went to a sepia tone and tried to make it look like an old tintype photo.  I created a background that looks like old scratched up metal and then cut out the photo with a bit of a wavy edge and turned it brownish.  Then I softened it and reduced the contrast to give it an older look.  Finally I added some more scratches to the surface like you might find on an old photo that hasn't been well cared for.

Try clicking on it and viewing it full size and let me know what you think.  Did it work, did it not work, have you done anything like this before and do you have any hints or tips?  I do look forward to hearing from you.
