This is the waterfall in the background in
yesterday's post with the crocuses. I took a hike in the Columbia River Gorge area in north west Oregon, USA and along the hike were several beautiful falls. This was pretty much at the farthest point on the hike and photographically this may be my least favorite because of the location of the sun and the fact that without a partner and rappelling equipment I could not get at any other angle. I did however get yesterday's shot and there is anther much smaller falls about 200 feet beyond this that worked out pretty cool. That one will be posted soon.
Photos cannot do justice to the size of these falls. According to what I could find the drop on these is about 132 ft or the height of a 10 story building.

Nice iridescence in the water...
Stunning photo ... I've never seen a Triple Falls ...
Best regards, Karin
ten stories? how awesome is that?
I don't know this one but I do know Multnomah, Bridal Veil, Wahkeena, Latourell. They are all so beautiful! Never had time for a hike though.
I would not have imagined them that high. I can appreciate your not wanting to press it further in getting closer or a better angle. I've been in a situation like that many times and thought I have no business doing this.
This is the first for me to see a triple falls. Very nice capture.
quite beautiful
it is so interesting how often photographs of waterfalls are deceiving as to their size
Not sure I would have wanted to try to get in closer, Scott. This view is lovely enough for me to appreciate these falls.
This picture holds a bit of magic!
I know from personal experience how difficult can be to photograph some waterfalls. But I personally think you did a great job at this waterfall.
You sure have a stunning pov and the image is breath taking.
