I really had to dig into the archives for this one because I'm out of town and only have my laptop which doesn't have very many photos on it and I haven't had the opportunity to get any good sunsets on this trip. But I couldn't let a Sunday go by, especially after last week's remarks, without posting an image.

Sunset Sunday - 104

According to what I learned in elementary school there are 52 weeks in a year.  That means that if this is Sunset Sunday - 104 then this should be two years of Sunset Sundays.  I went back and checked and Sunset Sunday # 1 was actually February 21st 2010.  So apparently I've missed a few weeks over the two years.  This is one of my favorites and I took it on March 11th this year.  For those who are curious it is HDR.

I will be out on a family and photo excursion for the next couple weeks so I may not get much opportunity to post or visit.  I hope you will forgive me.  I will try very hard to have a Sunset Sunday shot for each Sunday though.

Rockland Harbor

The lighthouse at Rockland Harbor is at the end of about a half mile breakwater make of granite. As you can see here I'm still working with the textures and enjoying it.

Sunset Sunday - 103

Okay, my excuse for being so late today is that it is the beginning of Daylight Savings time and I lost an hour last night.  Not a very good one, but it's all I got so I'm sticking with it.

This shot was taken about three nights ago on the causeway that takes you to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake in Utah, USA.  About 75% of my sunset photos are taken within two or three miles of this spot.

Photography Tips.  You can find her blog here and a great tutorial on photographing sunrises and sunsets here.  She did ask me for a few ideas which she added to the bottom, but it was a great tutorial before my thoughts were added.

Another work of texturing an image. 

I really appreciated the comments on yesterday's texturized image, even those who didn't see it as one of their favorites.  Most of the time if people don't particularly like an image they just don't comment, but once in a while it's nice to get real feedback from people who don't like it as well as those who do.  To tell you the truth it was not one of my favorites either, but I was struck by that memorial, and like many of you very curious.  I wanted to give it kind of a somber feeling and I liked the blurry figures in the background which were almost imperceptible as people walking the beach.
