The Milky Way

I'll confess that a big part of the reason I bought a full frame camera last fall was so I could do night photography, but I've had very little chance to try it . . . until last night, when Royce Bair hosted a meetup session where he, I and about 80 "friends" met at Silver Lake in Brighton, Utah and did some night photos. I have still got a lot to learn, but I was pretty pleased with the results. Some other photographers who we never met but heard them in the dark, asked if we minded if they did a little light painting and so I thought I'd just open my shutter and see the results. I have no idea what they got but I thought mine turned out pretty cool. THANKS AGAIN ROYCE and the anonymous light painters too!

Well done Scott. You mentioned light painting and along the same line (if not the same thing, I don't know) is leaving the shutter open with the camera mounted on a tripod then run around a trip a separate flash at or behind objects.

Great capture of the night sky, Scott.
Sounds like it was a fun venture!
