I've been collecting "Travel Photos" from my travels for the past several years, to the point where I didn't even know where to begin in posting to this site. I was truly blessed to have taken a recent trip to Vietnam, where I spent a year as a U.S. Army soldier 50 years ago in 1967 and 1968. I don't know the exact date of my return, but I do know that it was in early April of 1968, so it is entirely possible that today is the 50 year anniversary of my return home.
This trip was somewhat different, as I was there for the purpose of really seeing the beauties of that country, getting a closer look at the people and the scenic wonders. One of the stand out scenic wonders is Ha Long Bay, on the north eastern coast. Trust me, you will see more photos of this gorgeous area in future posts. You will often see it spelled Halong bay as one word, but in my limited research it seems to be more correct to have it as two words.
In future posts I will talk about why it is sometimes difficult to determine whether to call a photo a "Travel" shot or a "Street" shot. For know, I just wanted to get the "Travel" side of this site started.
