I'm in the double digits now.  I've really got to pick up the pace on this project.  This is Dan.  When my wife and I went camping recently this was the campground manager where we stayed.  You can see that he's a happy guy and very friendly.  I told him about my 100 strangers project and he was happy to allow me to take his photo and post it.

Stranger # 9

A photographer buddy of mine and I were out on a day of photographing landscapes etc. and we found this very calm reflective pond, but it was on private property.. The good news was that the gate was open, and since we didn't see anyone around we trespassed onto the property to get some reflections of nearby hills off the pond. Pretty soon this truck pulls up and the guy asks us what was so interesting that we wanted to take photos of it. Turns out we were on his farm, but he was really nice and friendly and said we could take as many pictures as we wanted. HIs name is Don Jeppson and he even said I could take his picture when I asked him. We had a great visit for about ten minutes or so and then he went back to work and we shot a couple more photos and were on our way.

For those who guessed the type of "flower" on the post a couple days ago here the first one to get it exactly was John Lee from Sinbad and I. Yes it is sitting right on top of an onion stem. I believe they are Vadalia onions, but not sure.

The Original Breaking Out

This post is in response to some comments on the previous one here which I had altered by lightening, adding some noise with "filter" and also used "high pass", all in Photoshop. I think my wife likes this one better.  Which do you prefer?

This is the original SOOC except, of course, I added the framing effect and my copyright watermark.

Now to answer the big question - what is it?  Well I think I'll wait a day or two and let you guess.  The first person who identifies it will win a great big applause from me, and probably everyone else that guesses.  I'll give you a hint:  I'll bet you're surprised when I tell you the answer.

I was headed out to take a photo of an old building in a small town about 20 miles from my house when I met Royce Dye getting things set up for a marathon to be run the next morning.  He was very friendly and happy to explain what was going on.  I told him about my 100 strangers project and asked him if I could post his photo, which he was happy to cooperate with.
